Most people claim that they want to learn. In fact, some students will pay thousands of dollars in order to gain access to the most respected teachers. According to martial arts instructor Tae Yun Kim, however, willingness to be taught is only part of the equation, however. The teacher must also have advanced skills and the willingness to adapt approaches based on the wants and needs of the students present. This is an important concept when teaching almost any subject, but it might be most important for teachers who are covering abstract concepts.
By using metaphor, and encouraging her students to work hard for the lessons they want to learn, Grandmaster Dr. Tae Yun Kim proves that she is an innovative educator. It's no wonder that her students find her approach so very inspirational.
